Bob's flathead one, Old Photo

Thought some of you guys might get a kick out of my first motorized wheels I had metal shop in Jr. High and started this Mini Bike project. My Dad was a machinest and got involved and had several pieces made at work, Stainless exhaust, rear fender etc. We bought the motor new and got in big trouble for spending so much money. Thank's Dad
This was in 1966 and I was 13 years old. We built one more after this and a Go Cart.
I wish I had this Mini Bike today to display, It's kind of a relic now.

Nice! Torque converter trans? I had one in about '72, I was 13, mine was a chopper. My dad wasn't mechanical like yours, (don't know where I got that gene), , but he drove me out to get the thing. I still remember that day.

The clutch was centrifugal and it had a shaft that crossed over behind the motor were you could play with the gearing. I think the motor was about 3 or 4 HP and was a Briggs & Stratton. There where a bunch of us that made them up and would ride together.
Dad was definitely a skilled craftsman with lots of pride in his work. Taught me a bunch of stuff working on projects like this.
