Great opportunity for Yuki. It has to be much like getting promoted to the hardest job in the world. Trying to match Max's performance. It will not take long to see how it goes.

Yea, it is a real crucible of driver skill.

That did answer the sarcastic "who'll get axed first, Lawson or Doohan" - but probably not by much.. I hope Doohan can score points in Monza, Flavio is even more ruthless than Helmut Marko ! |

Quoting myself. Proves my point |
I pity Yuki. I hope he can come to terms with that car quickly.

Red Bull is teetering on the edge here. I bet Yuki fares similar to Liam and Sergio. I do think he should have had the spot to begin with.
|
Well, if Yuki is to be compared to Sergio he better put that thing on the top step of the podium. Sergio did that 5 times with 3 pole positions and 29 podiums. Of course, it all went downhill from there.

It'll be interesting to see if the Racing Bulls car is easier to drive than the Red Bull car in which case Yuki and Liam's fortunes may switch differently than expected.

Helmut's ^ gonna struggle, he's only got one eye and the halo center bar only disappears if you have stereovision ;-)
In all honesty I cannot imagine what will happen. Pretty sure Lawson will do better at RB-visa-cash-app-ex-alphatauri-ex-toro-rosso but Yuki ? What's success for him ? Q2 ? Does his driving style suit a Max car ? It did not suit Albon/Gasly/Perez/Lawson... I would love to see Yuki do well, it could also be career suicide. Perez must be laughing his butt off. |

Indeed it will be interesting to see how both Liam and Yuki compare to each other and their respective teammates.

Special cherry blossom livery for Japan this weekend
Think it looks great! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1743426440.jpg |
I think our own Cap't Ahab fillés had a hand in the BAR team. I haven't watched yet, but I generally like what Millward puts together.

In my defence, it wasn't all my fault as I wasn't there for the first 2yrs BAR's 'Tradition of Excrements' :D and left before the last Honda had turned a wheel For the most part I really enjoyed my time there, even if it all I had to show for it was 1x win for 6.5yrs of work :( |
I read an article today that Red Bull has stated Yuki will NOT be running Max's setup . They basically said they will make every legal change to the chassis setup to make it more neutral . I wonder if that will take away speed ? Or maybe if more neutral it can be driven faster ? The pressure on Yuki is huge , I hope he can hit most/all targets for the weekend .
|
I'd bet Yuki does better than Lawson but nowhere near enough to challenge Max or the top 3 teams. If that's the case, And Lawson looks decent in the B-team again, where does RedBull go from there ? they clearly have not made the best car for a couple years now, and were rescued by Verstappen's talent driving a very pointy car nobody else can cope with.
Someone jokingly said "put Verstapen in an RB Visa cash" for a couple races, see what he can do there ?" - wouldn't that be effing amazing to witness though ? If Yuki and Isaac can qualify where they did, maybe Max could actually be faster in that car ? ;-) This is going to be the most interesting race of the season so far. With Max likely heading to Mercedes next year, I wonder if RB is in serious trouble. Kinda hope so, can't say I like any of their leadership. |
