WiFi Smoke Alarm/CO Recommendations

Backstory

My home is hard wired with 5 Kiddie COSM-IBA smoke alarm and Carbon monoxide detectors. The system is designed that all the units are interconnected. If a fire breaks out in the kitchen all of the units activate.

Recently a bedroom unit started chirping. I replaced the batteries twice but the unit kept chirping. The batteries were good, verified with a volt meter.

The unit was installed 6 years ago, reading the literature on the unit, when the CO part of the unit loses effectiveness it will chirp every 60 seconds to identify the end of life for the unit.

It is likely the rest of the units will all age out within the year.

Question

Does anyone here have any hard wired (interconnected) WiFi smoke alarms/CO they would recommend?

WiFi enabled smoke detectors will send texts/emails to a contact when a problem is detected. I really like this level of protection.

Thanks Gang

I have hard wired smoke detectors. They havre been replacefd probably three times. I have to confess I've turned them off. They would start chirping. I'd replace the batteries, and they would still chirp. The really annoyiing thing was that they'd start going off in the middle of the night on a regular basis. Changing out the old alarms for new and changing the batteries had no possitive results. So to not be awakened at night by smoke alarms going off, I just got fed up and turned them off.

We have several regular smoke detectors in obvious areas. We also have one hardwired CO and smoke detector near the center of the house, not far from our master bedroom. It is part of the alarm system, so if it goes off, the fire department will be notified via the alarm system. It was installed by the alarm company.

They replace it every 5 years. We have a second stand alone, battery powered CO and smoke detector in our bedroom. Belts and suspenders.

I just want to know how smoke detectors know to start beeping at 3:00 AM, and not 3:PM for a low battery, or end of life warning.

I just replaced 11 smoke detector in my buildings last month.
I went to:
Smoke Alert Home Fire Safety
919-428-4284 ext. 2
www.smokealert.net

(2) SA521CN SA520B Smoke w/ hardwired w/ Interconnect.
(4) 1046774 SM500V Smoke w/ battery & Interconnect.
(5) 1046815 SMCo500V Smoke, CO w/ battery & Interconnect.
I had 2 that were hardwired from when the house was built, but they were not interconnected, so I bought these models because they are all wi-fi interconnected.
I just need to reprogram them to announce what room is getting the detection so I can troubleshoot them in the future. Some are smoke & CO detectors, others are only smoke so i can protect my garage and shop. Range on them is pretty go for separate buildings.
Also the CO detection ability per code for the bedroom and by the furnace.
