She relaxed into the Adirondack chair, coffee in hand. The morning air was light and crisp. Small boats sparkled like jewels in the morning light as they headed for the Gulf. Bobbi was happy. It was her 65th birthday.

Just then a neighbor on her morning stroll walked by. "That's a nice outfit, very appropriate for your age." Bobbi turned, noticing the woman's attire of knee length Bermuda shorts, a shapeless camp shirt, and requisite helmet hair cut. "Why thank you so much!" Bobbi replied. Then, Bobbi got up, went inside, and changed. She was too glam to give a damn about age.

I was trying to come up with something amusing to post. I think humor's a great gift, second only to medicine (and practically medicine itself). For whatever reason, I thought "there's got to be some sort of amusing song about "Dixie". I've gotta tell you, I only found/thought of two, and neither seemed "appropriate". Sorry, Dixie, I was hoping to give you a chuckle, but couldn't find anything for mixed company that wasn't too juvenile.

That is so sweet. Thank you, and you're right. There are some great songs with Dixie in the title, but typically they're about a place.

Yep, that was one of them. Another was about a girlfriend named Dixie getting into an accident and the associated double entendre.

The double entendre is a bit too juvenile for this thread, and since you're a car gal, the song about Dixie getting into an accident just seemed wrong.

Happy Birthday Dixie! Hope you have a good one. In my late seventies now and my wife is the same. Enjoy your sixties as the time seems to slip slide away quickly. Not so much desire to travel now.
