Drone Swarms Could be Spying Afterall
From 60 Minutes a few days ago - General Mark Kelly stated the largest drones were the size of a small car.

I watched the 60 Minutes piece on Sunday. Scary stuff for our security no doubt and bad marks for Congress for not funding counter measures. My questions are: why does our military have to wait for Congress to approve funding for something like this and if it is a foreign actor, why did they leave the drone's lights on?

I may have mentioned this in another thread - in the daytime one can, of course, see the drones. At night you've got civilian and military fixed wing and helicopters out and about. Helicopters in particular may be flying at the same altitudes drones may be found.
I think whomever is operating these during night time hours is smart enough to understand that a collision with an unlit drone causing an accident or fatality would lead to an international incident if the drone could be traced back to a foreign source. Sneaky as they may be, they're also using a bit of common sense. |
