Been taking D3 125 mcg (5000 IUD)
I read where 1-2000 IUD is max and there can be issues if you take too much. The label on the front says D3 but in the back it says just Vitamin D (as D3 cholecalciferol). It looks like I am getting too much D3. Side thought: Why would a company sell such a large dose if it is too much?

When you have blood work done, what’s your vitamin D level?
I take 15,000 units a day. Have the blessings of a doctor to do so. My suggestion would be to have your blood tested and keep your vitamin D level at/and above 50 ng/mL. Vitamin D toxicity is pretty rare, your vitamin D level in your blood would typically be several times that before you have problems. Taking vitamin K helps your body make vitamin D. |

You'll piss out what you don't need. Read the %'s on the back of a bottle of multi-vitamins. Many are 1000% of URDA or more.

One thing I learned during the Covid nonsense was that the generally accepted normal range for vitamin D levels in blood was 20 to 30 ng/mL, an inadequate number to prevent viral infection.
You want at least 50, there are studies that show this. There are lots of things we’ve accepted for decades, and I think need new scrutiny. You might want to start with the food pyramid. |

Im not a Doc or pharmacist, but Vitamin D is a fat soluble, so it does NOT get just get pissed out. Have your Doc check your levels next blood work.

Living in the PNW we are notorious for not getting enough vitamin D.
We have also cornered the market on MS and serial killers. I think these are all related. Seriously. |

My Doctor prescribed me 1000IU daily of over the counter vitamin D. I only take it in the winter though.

As someone who worked in consumer healthcare I can say that unless you're suffering from a specific deficiency or have a chronic condition then the typical OTC multi-vitamin is not helpful. The makers put things like 500% RDA on the label because 1) it's factual and 2) people think more is better.

The sun exposure has to be above a certain level before it even starts the reaction in your body. At the lower latitudes in the US, that is summertime. Northern latitudes, forget about it.

I take 10.000 units per a day. Have the blessings of a doctor to do so. On Canadian pharmacy you can read on dosage and side effects

I'm not a doctor.
I was taking 2000iud per day for years. A recent blood test showed that I had low D levels, so the doctor put me on 50,000 iud per day for a two-week course. I haven't had an updated blood test yet but will do that next week. I too was under the impression that 2000 was the limit but doing so for years showed that I was still low. I think you need to do blood work to see what your own situation is. |

Vitamin's A, D, and E are fat soluble, so if you get extra, you don't pee it out like with most vitamins. I believe that means that if you take excess, it will store in your fat and build up and you can eventually have too much.
I don't know about the effects of too much D, but my mom started having issues from getting too much E back in the 80s until her Dr told her about it being fat soluble. I've heard that most folks don't get enough D. I've also heard from multiple Drs (MDs) that the commonly recommended amount of D is not adequate. I've been taking 100-125 mcg (µg) per day (when I remember which is probably 5-6 days/wk) for several years. I believe that's 500-650%DV.

For the other vitamins, that is correct, because most vitamins are water soluble. What ^he^ said.
