Motorcycle Modifications…

I spent last night and part of this morning in the shop with my son making some minor mods to my dirt bike…

I still have some fine tuning to do but it’s pretty interesting to ride…

I would like to try a timbersled, but the guys near me who have them travel west to the deep snow to ride. The vids of them ripping in the fluff look amazing.

Put a wide enough ski on that bike and pond crossings in summer will be a cinch.

Nice bike! Justin Barcia replica. (Whoops! Just noticed the pipe. Not JB!)

How did you go from the wheel to the tread? That's some engineering skill.

A 300 2t has enough power for a timbersled? I didn't know. That is awesome!

You remove the swingam and rear shock and linkage. This bolts to where the rear swing arm bolts and then there is an adjustable strut that connects where the shock mounts to the frame. This is what you use to set the angle of attack of the track and more importantly the weight on the front ski.

The chain connects to the factory sprocket and then there is a second chain that connects to the track drive. It seems like about a 2:1 reduction. I’m in 4th, 5th, and 6th gear a lot. It could use a bigger front sprocket.

Surprisingly yes. My buddy has this same setup on his 2014 Beta 250 2T. I think the new KTM (GasGas) throttle body injection and the bottom end torque are what make it work so well.

I’m praying for snow.
