The entire world is effected by online scammers from a nuisance level of wasting time deleting texts, phone calls and email to people losing everything. Several specialized IT teams track these scammers down, apprehend them and then beat the hell out of them. Or something like that.

Have gotten 5 texts about EZ Pass toll payment now. Not a big deal for me obviously but there must be thousands of people who have sent them money in this latest text scam.

On a different note, I keep telling my son he needs to write a screenplay based upon the life decisions and situations some of his friends get into. Every couple of weeks he brings us up to speed with another episode of the questionable decisions of his generation.

You could have Harris one week and Trump the next.

Several such shows exist on Youtube, where they end up messing up the entire IT departments in India and sending cops after them (not beat them up, different country). There's also fun series from mark Rober about glitter and fart bombing porch pirates with boobytrapped boxes that people steal, not the same but equally satisfying with real video from his glitter bombs...

Also isn't that the premise for that paragon of cinematography that is "beekeeper"? (I like Jason statham but a stupider movie, I never saw - I hear it was very popular so most people must have loved it and I set too high a bar)

There's a FB/ YouTube account called "Scammer Payback" which is similar to what you describe, the guy is a real IT pro and wastes the time / hacks/ exposes call center scammers in India. Sometimes he recovers stolen money and the panic in the voices of the scammers is really a thing to behold.

Watch scammer payback/ the peoples call center on YT. It is so satisfying . Online and phone scammers should be drawn and quartered
