flt sim / driving sim rigs
Trying to find a sim rig where I can do both - driving sim and a flying sim. The rigs are similar but the peripheral attachment points are different. I'm trying to find a rig that has quick disconnects where I can swap out gas/brake pedal set for rudder pedals set and one that can attach a yoke in the center and throttle on the side. All of the ones I have found have one or the other but not both. I have seen a few people make their own attachments but surely somebody has to make something like this??

I thought about that question too. Haven't seen anything made yet.
(I'm assuming you're talking about the metal frame+racing chair+monitor mount rig) ![]() Wheels and yokes usually clamp to the front lip of a desk. It looks like some (ie VelocityOneFlight) sit on top. I use a TM Warthog HOTAS. Slide the throttle forward, slide the stick left, the desk is clear again. They are heavy. Not much space otherwise. There are some nice setups out there https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1473429 A lazy susan might work. A left-right linear might not be strong and take up more space. Need a solid sliding surface such as two thin sheets of bumpy plastic with a clamping system.

I was told that the latest oculus goggles was THE piece to have. So I bought it.
I went from a single 65 inch to the goggles. I like it. |

What?

I had this one for a while with attachments for HOTUS. It was OK, not great but functioned.

I have more highline peripherals. Everything bolts to various trays. No quick clamps, etc. For flight sim, that would be ok, but not for driving. You'd be surprised how much weight you put on the pedals, etc.
I have done a lot of searching and cant seem to find that does both. Most people have just modified ones to make them work. Something like this might work as there seems to be room to add some type of center mount between the seats for a joystick https://nextlevelracing.com/product/gtelite-lite-front-side-mount-edition/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=21916221756&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAwOe8BhCCARIsAGKeD54zwgrSYwB-m8twMkEM3R-jxRKSzaQL7nl3kqranAYMylLB16SVLswaAsSMEALw_wcB or this one.. https://sim-lab.eu/en-us/products/p1x-pro-sim-racing-cockpit-int?variant=53612492292481 (and yes, I have VR also and while it is a completely immersive experience, three big screens are better suited as you need to be able to see a LOT of buttons/keyboard using the mouse, etc for activating various things so I find myself using those more.

I wanted an Obutto R3volution but they had nothing in stock at the time nor would they in a timely fashion. Got the Volair Sim like pictured above. I also have a VR headset but still use triple monitors for some stuff that pre-dates VR support.
I like it well enough, but the seat is not as comfortable as when new. Only pain is swapping the racing and flight pedals but I put a rubber toolbox foam down and nothing moves on it since they are not bolted. The shelf where you bolt the wheel isn't as firm as I would like, but it is fine. Everything else is solid as a rock. I am not flexible enough to use the center stick mount. ![]()

Whatever you are thinking of: Make it quick-changable easy and fast. And most of all solid.

In the one you have pictured, everything with square tubing is solid and adjustable/detachable with a single finger screw.
I did opt for the separate triple monitor mount. Well worth the extra few $.

If you're looking for a different kind of driving sim check out BeamNG.
It's kind of a sandbox with potential in many directions, arcade or a real sim. 'Realistic' damage and physics model and a ton of features. It's still slightly unfinished in some areas such as sound and AI behavior sometimes but the foundation is really really solid. I just recently bought and likey. Last night had a time driving a pickup around like a maniac with the door half falling off swinging back and forth with the hood folded up until the engine died. The bootleg scenario is a chase through the Utah mountains in vintage sedans. Haven't checked out the the community for mods yet.
