That's a huge boat! From the front back I believe it's berth's, galley, idk, and engines? What goes on the empty areas? Is this a pleasure yacht?

Okay, I'm going to thank all y'all in advance for allowing me to ask this. (I'm allowed because i know nothing about boats.)

Why is there an aft steering room? Is that where you drive the boat during a storm?

Awesome! What’s the full story with the build Bill? Are you commissioning this as a full custom, somewhat build to spec from an established builder, or are you full up DIY? I’m an avid boater and like watching people build their own boats on sites like the hull truth. As the owner of a piddly 30 ft boat I love to dream.

With a large vessel the rudder is powered by mechanisms (usually hydraulic) in the space where the rudder post comes into the hull. This equipment receives commands from the helm.

The builder is Scarano Boats, The designer is a very good friend, we grew up together from age 4. I'm just an engineering consultant and part-time delivery( boat deliveries) boy. This is going to be an addition to their fleet of 16 commercial tour and special occasion boats. It will be 1 of 6 operating out of NYC, w/ others flotillas from Key West to Newport to Boston.

Tight,vertical grain and clear as a bell. Those are some nice sticks

and expensive, even by the semi load

but cheap compered to the Mahogany and Teak

Is that a CNC router Bill? How much of the wood cuts are computer controlled vs the old fashioned way of a man with a tape measure?

Th entire project right down to the smallest part is in the computer, there are 2 main apps one for construction and a parallel one for dynamics

virtually all the wood & metal work is cut by computer to ensure a tight precise fit, back in the old days('90s) it was all done by hand fitting, I real PIA for an object curved in multiple planes that has to fit tightly to another companion object.

Very cool, it’s interesting to see the fusion of new technology with old world craftsmanship.

I’ve always wondered, what keeps these stands from kicking out? I was thinking they were freestanding, but maybe the tops are fastened to the boat?

The stands are tripods, angled so they are as close to perpendicular to the point of contact with the hull as possible.
