I didnt eat the cookie.

oooofff! saying my title out loud, that doesnt sound right..haha.

no innuendoes (euphemism?). but it meant exactly that. I didnt eat a baked cookie. hahahah..

I got an update!! I can honestly call myself a jogger now. today was raining hard and putting rain gear on myself and my dog, I went ahead and did my run. (my jacket sucks!).. i got wet, but I felt great.

I still eat as directed by my inspirational dietician. what I havent done is step on a scale for weeks. it was going in the wrong direction and I kinda quit worrying about it.

well, today was a shocker. I did step on the scale. I hit 185.2lbs. that is down from 217. my blood pressure is like I am 15. resting HR is 56, and I can sprint up 6 flights of stairs (tested this Thursday in a parking lot that had a broken elevator - and a pay kiosk in the lobby).

back to the cookie(s). I had put two delicious holiday cookies into my freezer. I wrote on the baggie. @185lbs. I had planned on stuffing those two cookies into my face when I hit my goal. well, sugar was a problem for me in the past and I felt it was best not to poke that bear again.....maybe at 175

Congrats. I haven't stepped on a scale in over a month, but the last time I did, I was right at around 200 pounds, which is heavy for me. My ideal weight that I feel best at is around 185, and I am 6' tall. I find that when I am near 200 pounds, bending over to tie my shoes is a hassle, and that won't fly with me.
Keep it up, or down, I guess.

Awesome, congrats! That's huge, hard, and obviously the result of lots of work and will power!

I think I gained about 10# over the holidays. I'm down to about 6 extra now. I'd like to get down to at least where you are. I'm at about 198 now. I'd be happy below 185. Once I get there, I could probably go even lower, but I tend to concentrate on near term goals more than long term.

I've had your cookie and 50 others in the last 2 weeks. Glad I am very active, couldn't imagine a desk job with my appetite, like french dip gravy covered toasted roast beef sandwich for lunch today. And a few ginger snaps.

Maybe you could start your own thread about having the opposite life than me, huh?

Good for you dood.

I'm 6' and sitting right at 165-170. Since loosing the weight I've been riding my bike when the weather permits. I've actually been trying to put a little weight back on but to no avail. I even eat ice cream for dessert every night too.

I can’t gain weight. Younger weight was always 175-185. I’m at 165 and eating anything and everything. I’m 6’3

I'm a bit over 6'1", and I'm happier if I'm in the 170s. The last time I was 165 was in college when I got tired of eating in the cafeteria. I would be happy around 175-180.

Where's that thumbs up emoji? Yeah, that's pretty thin, but I don't think it's a problem. It's certainly light years better than having the opposite problem.

I'm one month into retirement. After spending 12-14 hours a day on my feet I'm down to maybe 2 hours a day. And that's getting up multiple times to fetch a beer and more Corn Nuts.

I'm a ticking time bomb. I've got to get on the stick and move. Once fishing season starts I'll be active but that's not until late March.

I'm currently making a batch of beef jerky. Maybe I'll do the "carnivore diet". J/K.

Good on you Vash!

Seriously I am going to cut out beer, carbs and chicharrones and other crap. After years working around a "Craft Service" table it's going to be tough cutting out the snacks.

ice cream is the one thing that puts weight on me these days. I used to eat 3-4 pints a week. now it's 2 max and feels right.

I know you're busier than a one armed paperhanger but do you ever get a chance to row when the weather warms up?

Rowing and XC skiing used to be the big calorie burners back in the day.

Good job! It's pretty amazing how good feeling good feels isn't it? Keep up the good work. When I want to drop weight I typically just stop drinking beer and then hit the elliptical and weights.

Congratulations Vash !! Well done on making yourself more healthy! Not eating those cookies is a huge step in creating a good habit ! I went keto almost 2 years ago. I dropped 35 lbs in only a couple months. To this day I continue to follow the keto diet. I have dropped about 5 more pounds, but I have seen the benefits. I am more alert and have more energy. At next Dr visit I will go off the metformin and a good chance the lisinipril. So, both blood sugar and B P are way down into acceptable limits.
I don’t snack, I don’t eat anything between meals. Although, chiccarones are on the keto list…I just don’t partake.
Bravo to you Vash ! Keep it up !

Cookies, cake, pie...have never interested me. My last cookie is at least 5 years back.
Even growing up, I wasn't interested in sweets. I mostly eat whatever I want.

I'm nearly 72 and weigh 152
