How To Build A Dune Buggy
I have always loved dune buggys. I remember watching a Saturday morning show called "Wonderbug" and thought the red metal flake buggy was really cool. Wonderbug had a body called Dune Runner, and I kind of like it better than a Meyers Manx.
Have any of y'all ever built a dune buggy? https://youtu.be/ACmQPnW4g7Y?si=8WWgZTgmdCxOzRF5 Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk

Had a neighbor that was into off road buggies. He built a chassis in his garage with chalk lines drawn on the floor.

My FIL was OG dune buggy maker in San Diego way back. He knew Myers and all the other people. I should have written his stories down because they were historical.
Unfortunately, he is gone. Miss ya, Grandpa Jim! |

A club I'm in is rebuilding one for a raffle at our show in May. Bay Area VW Club. Texas Manx Club is a great resource.

I’ve had a few sand rails and really want a Meyers type buggy, I have had a few projects in the past but never had an opportunity to really build one the way I wanted.
Currently I’m working on another rail, belonged to one of my Shrine Brothers, who used it for parades. My old buggy project and rail . ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The current one ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
