I have 10 or do Dewalt tools, including an old saws all with an adapter, to use the new batteries.

Some of my tools with model numbers.

Don't know about dewalt. I did Bosch demo twice when I was out of college, poor and desperate and doing construction. It paid 200 bucks a pop. Drawback was I has to haul some of the stuff and help set up along with a couple of sales people but I did get to keep all the nails and fasteners that was not used up. Found out a few things about tools and how their basic business work jsut talking to their sales people and managers. That was over 25 years ago, not sure how they are numbered today. All their B tools had a B in the model number or serial number somewhere. Ever since then, I try to buy from a tool shop or on line tool shop.

I don’t believe that a company would risk their reputation by selling encrapified tools with their logo all over it. They have a hard enough time controlling for counterfeits.

Do you have any evidence for the claim? Can you show differing parts diagrams or anything?

Dewalt is extremely confusing with their model #s. For example, in the past 2 years they have come out with at least four different drill drivers and impact drivers on the same platform. Unless you do your research when you go the the store, you wouldn't have a clue which is which.

Just about every tool manufacturer has been outsourcing production to the far east for many years trading quality for profit.
A Dewalt sales guy who deals with the home depot account told me face to face that the home depot Dewalt tools are of inferior quality to the tools they sell on line.

I think that's more of a scare tactic than reality. Why risk higher warranty claims?

That also goes with things like plumbing fixtures etc.. A friend who owns a plumbing and heating business here hired an ex-Home Depot buyer, and said that the buying power of Home Depot, Lowes, Costco let them get specific items.. for their price point

Used to be Costco TVs had model numbers that did not correspond to similar models sold in other retail spaces..

I like it because you can use it with only one hand.

I much prefer that style also, but the 12v milwaukee and the 20v bauer.

Also pop in a pruner blade and use it for trimming.

I have a Dewalt battery Sawsall...works great.

I’ve owned one for close to 20 years, a 1/2” Impact as well.
I’ve cut up multiple old, crashed, rotted out Porsches, trees, branches , demo projects, including the last warehouse move, metal, plastic etc. only issue has been occasional batteries and lots of blades . As a matter of fact, I’ll be cutting up limbs this week that fell on a couple of Benzes at a friend’s place. And I bought both of those Dewalts at the local Home Depot

This was over 20 years ago. I saw it with my own eyes and coming from the mouth of a salesman. Tell you the truth, I am not sure what's going on today. I have picked up tools needed for a job at home depot and they lasted a long time. Now carbide sawblade is a complete animal. Those Freud Diablo circle saw blades are junk or known to us as job site blades with a C3 cutting tip at best.

Why not? John Deere does that with their ride on lawn mowers/lawn tractors.

I've pretty much switched over to Spyder blades. Way better last longer.

After posting in this thread, I had to make a run to Lowe’s, and as always, I went to check out the discount section.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741150532.jpg
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741150532.jpg

I was thinking, Dang, deal, even started to pick it up.
But, like an idiot, I put it back and left. I was thinking, mine still works well, so no reason to spend a couple hundred bucks.
I charged up a few batteries grabbed mine and went to trim a branch that fell between a few cars at a friend’s place.
Well, two of the batteries didn’t hold the charge and my newest battery was on the other charger. All the sudden, the $200 kit was looking pretty good since it came with batteries. But, when I went back to Lowe’s, it was sold

I have a little DeWalt chainsaw for that job. Love it! I took down most of a medium size silver maple with it. But yeah ya shoulda snagged that deal.

I have a Lowe’s brand Kolbalt cordless chain saw, been pleased with it.
A few months back, we had some heavy wind that brought down a huge limb, one that could have taken out my 2500 Suburban had it hit it. Since it was blocking my neighbors driveway, and them having small children, I needed to get it completely down and out of the way ASAP. Lo
