They should do a retro-Bond. Have a movie set in the early 60's so there is more freedom with the story tropes--throw in a few "cutting edge" gadgets, some Bond girls and a cool car.

I’ve preferred the grittier Bond characters. As of late he’s gotten too soft. The character is a spy, assassin, womanizer, and functional alcoholic. Sort of like a real life Archer.:D

Christian Bale would not need a whole lot of coaching, he is British. People forget that since his American accent is so good.
Just like Hugh Laurie, of House M.D. Watch him on "Blackadder" or "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" to experience his real accent as well as his comedy chops.
