are ya up late or early?

Ugh. Here it is, not quite 3am for me

My alarm is gonna go off at 4 to go turkey hunting.

But it seems that if I sleep 4-5 hours then wake up for whatever reason, usually bathroom related, I cant go back to sleep

So ... for you non-bots here ... you up e late or early?

I'm a wake up at 3:00am or 4:00am guy. Very annoying. Then I get about five minutes of sleep before I have to get out of bed at 6:45am.

Right now, for me, it's not the middle of the night it's 9:00pm Sunday.

Even though I am retired I am up every day at 5:00 AM . It's a leftover from my working days .

I’m coming up on 1 year of working on my fitness I prefer to workout in the mornings but need to be in the office at 6:30. So my alarm is set for 3am which works because I enjoy the solitude of the mornings.

Unfortunately that carries over to the evenings and I’m usually ready for bed by 8pm.

What I really need is the best of both worlds. Get up at 3am. Lift. Go home and back to bed for a couple hours then back up at 8.

Had a heavy lunch with friends yesterday and didn't eat supper. Asleep at the usual 9PM, but awake for a while around 2. Then wide awake at 4:30 so watched the F1 race. Usually it's 9 to 6 with no trouble.

Best

I get up every day at 4:30. Spend an hour catching up on the news and enjoying the time alone. Around 6:00 I start breakfast. Serve my wife breakfast in bed everyday.
The 4:30 thing started when I was in the Corps.

I have the same trouble with waking up in the middle of the night and not going baclk to sleep. Some years ago my doc prescribed Trazodone as a sleep aid. If I go to bed and don't seem to be able to sleep, I will take one. If I wake up before 3AM and don't feel like I'll go back to sleep, I'll take one. My sleep pattern has improved in recent years by doing this. I usually take one once or twice during the week but sleep well the rest of the week. It made for a real improvement.

During my working years my alarm went off at 4:15 am and during the long summertime PNW daylight hours I was up till 10 pretty consistently and always a bit sleep deprived.

I still wake up about the same time after retirement but I fall back asleep until about 6 am.
Seems my body clock prefers the 10 pm to 6 am schedule.

Jet lag messes me up more than it used to, we spent about 3 weeks in Hawaii and the daylight savings hour change hit before coming back (Hawaii doesn't participate), the 3 hour difference took a few days to adjust to.

I'd love it if we stopped the whole "daylight savings" dance-

The missus and I are both night owls. If it was up to us, we'd be up until at least 2am every night and would sleep in.

I've got a job where all of the folks that I work with are on the East coast, so I am always up and working by 7am. When I go into the office, to ensure that I miss traffic, I get up at 415 and am in the office by 530-545.

The time change is kicking my azz. When I'm acclimated to my schedule, I'm usually in bed by 10-1030 on the weekends, but since the time change, I'm having a hard time getting to bed before midnight which is making getting up in the mornings a bear.

My wife and I used to be night owls before kids, so in late 20's for her and early 30's for me. That was in the mid 90's. Now, I typically go to bed around 9 pm and I wake on the dot, no alarm, by 5:30 am. She goes to bed close to 11 pm and can sleep to 8 am with no break.

Like others, if I have had 6 hours of sleep and get up for the bathroom, that's it, I am awake and up for the day. Pointless to go back to bed.
Always been an early riser other than during a growth spurt in high school and seem to need less sleep than others. Worked well before I retired as I was usually in the office by 5:45 with nobody else and no distractions. Almost never worked late.

A few years ago, I was still asleep until about 9:00 A,M, and woke to my wife holding a mirror over my nose and mouth. No doubt, she was hoping that it wouldn't fog

I was also a "hyperactive" kid and suspect some of that is still in play as a 70 yo man. It's ok as I make it work to my advantage.

I go to bed at 10:30. I have not been up past since midnight since 1999 became 2000. I stayed up to see the world end. Not one thing happened, so I went to sleep.

I get up usually between 3:00 and 3:30 to pee, than back to bed. Most always I time travel and the next thing I know, my wife is rousting me to wake up at 7:15.

I am one of those that wakes up instantly, and in a good mood. Our male dachshund is almost always at my feet needing a belly rub. After my shower and bathroom tasks, I make the long commute to work of 14 steps down the hall to my office.

On occasions I need to get up early like 6:00 or even 5:00 AM and I have no problems getting ready. Usually for some car event like a car show, or track day.
