The "AI" narrators drive me crazy. L R and 1200 frames per second?
Otherwise interesting.

So I'm sitting here looking at this thinking "why in the hell are are centerfire rounds shown in a video about 22LR?" Then I watch and go Oooooh...
I have a 22 mag I use for groundhogs at "close" range which is anything 200 yards or closer. My friend is building a competition 22LR just for fun.

My S&W 22A pistol doesn't like Federal but will eat CCI all day. The Marlin Golden lever rifle will eat almost anything.

They lost me a mere 30 seconds in. "Remington's new performance. (Pause.) Wheelgun. (Pause.) .22." Just cannot abide by the AI narration. Beyond that, an SD of only 20 fps in .22 ammo is absolutely out-freakin'-standing. You would win the Olympics with ammo that good. Whoever thinks that is substandard in any way knows nothing about rimfire ammo.

Yeah, I will often click away from videos when I realize that it's either text to speech or AI.

I carry a Ruger Single Six revolver in the Polaris Ranger around the farm...old pistol well cared for.
I use it basically as a noise maker to warn off foxes (we have a lot) and a way to help small, rabid animals get to the next stage...usually one a year. So, I tried to do some homework on the rounds in the video since I have only used CCI .22 in various loads...nothing so far on the newer stuff. Anyone know, I am sure it is, if the SS can use the new stuff? I have at least a few thousand round of the older CCI ammunition.

There is a threshold beyond which we will never see the results on target. This is well beyond that. The.22 LR match ammo game has gone the way of oh so many others, both within the shooting sports and elsewhere. Mere bragging rights, appealing to those who know so little that they believe they can buy skill. We see the same phenomenon in the latest generations of track cars, golf clubs, bicycles, whatever. Numbers for the sake of numbers. |

I've started shooting more 22lr lately, cheap and fun.
Winchester 1890's and 1906 "gallery guns" are fun to shoot but I really like the Savage/Anschutz offerings from the 60's-70's are great. I have 141 models in both 22 and 22Win Mag... ![]()

My 60 year old Sears/Browning semi-auto .22 used to shoot and, eject all sizes perfectly.
In the last couple years it won't eject 22 shorts, but longs are no problem. Is the gun wore out? I cleaned it the best I could and still the shorts casing ends up halfway out and jambed after firing.

The second pic is looking at it upside down. I do see a spring behind the bolt...not sure if it's serviceable. The gun was bought for me new when I was 11 or 12 years old....I think it was $20 then. So, it wouldn't be a surprise if it's just worn out. ![]() ![]()

Yeah, it's been a good gun over the years. I think it will hold 15 shorts or 12 long rifles.
Confusing to me, why shorts would jamb, but longs fire and eject perfectly. (I would expect the other way around)

It might be the reduced recoil of the .22 Short is failing to fully cycle the action. If the Shorts used to cycle it, it might just be gummed up enough to slow the bolt down to where it won't cycle anymore. Try cleaning the action out with some brake cleaner, relubricate, and see how it goes.

When the kids were in SASP the only thing the coach would let them shoot were CCI Minimags because they just worked.
