I wonder what his resolution was… my work isn’t published yet but it was maybe 1 order of magnitude higher than the current publications.

I’ve indulged too much, but the trick is to clean up the laser beam to a fine point where one can focus it on the sample. Sounds trivial… not that simple.

Then the basics of absorption wavelength of hemoglobin coupled with a transducer to pick up the signal. Lots of ways to skin that cat but a lot of custom python programming and home brewed optics setup...

Here’s one revision of the setup i made. These are all lab made. XYZ movement for mapping. This setup is 100% custom/to spec. Probably couple hundred k and the most important part was the lead time for all of the electronics and optics. I thought photography glass was expensive. lol. Those lens allow to nanometer resolution… while it can and certainly is used on mice/rats, i systematically don’t believe in animal models and only used boring cells.


The hard part is the focal length for mapping in 3d. It’ll change as one moves across the sample. Resolution was on par with SEM. Yeah. That’s cool.
