Are any F-1 teams taking a look at Palou? If he wins the title, he might be willing to jump.

Kudos to Ganassi for once again, somehow, calling a perfect race.
I see Palou’s talent for sure but as we’ve all heard before it’s also down to team/equipment.
Pato was losing ground on the straight. Is that set up or is it the Chevy being down HP vs Honda?

I think the Hondas are marginally quicker, but Palou was only 10ths of a second quicker in qualifying while at the end of the race after the yellows he would pull out a 4-5 second lead within a few laps. That's down to one or a combination of: better tires, lighter fuel load, use of push-to-pass, better race set-up on the chassis. Palou and Ganassi seem to be better than everyone else in conserving and managing all of those.

I'm probably 'mis-remembering' the way it was, but I don't recall this emphasis on tire and fuel management in the CART heydays of the 90s. I recall just bareknuckle racing.

Clean air makes a giant difference in tire wear.

I had a concern with one of the yellows where it seemed like Indycar waited longer than normal until Palou got into the pits and then it immediately went yellow. If they went to yellow any earlier he would have gone down a lap and it would have killed his chance of a win.

There used to be complaints about favoritism for Castro-Neves and then for Dixon. Looks like Palou is the new favored son.

Seems really positive to me. And I'm hopeful that Fox focuses on the marketing side only. But - PLEASE - no hokey 'play-offs', 'stages', etc.!!

Those last 20 laps were epic!
Will sounded subdued in the interview, suspect he's been told. I don't get it. He deserves Dixon treatment.

Yup, excellent race at Portland. Not an excellent race for some drivers, however.

Yeah- I felt that too. But to get that win and possibly go out on a high is a consolation. He’s had a good long run.

Yup, fantastic weekend in Portland with my two sons. Everything but the 102 degrees today. Most folks missed the best part of the show, though, leaving before the last two races of the day. The Indy Cars were great, but it only got better from there.

They really need to do something about turn one. It plays way, way too big of a factor in the race. They know it does, they commented on it all weekend for each and every race, now it's time to do something about it.

Too many yellows but other than that a very good race to watch . If this season is Will Powers last with Penske he can be proud of what he's done . I am quite sure another team would pick him up . Alex picks up his 4th championship and 3rd in a row . Well done !

What has happened with Colton Herta ? He has moments of speed but race pace/strategy just are off . Very good race for Graham Rahal , not sure how much longer he will be racing .

Power's out at Penske. Looks like a move to Andretti, and looks like the Herta to f2 to get superlicense points is for real. Next move Cadillac? Good grief.

That was another very good oval race at Nashville!

So we've got Power to Andretti, Malukas to Penske, and Veekay to Foyt/Penske. So far.

Looks like Penske is doing a full rebuild. In hockey that means keep a few good players, trade off all the rest that are sellable and get draft picks to setup a new team. It usually stinks for one or two years.

Roger fired the top three leaders Tim Cindric, Kyle Moyer, and Ron Rezewski earlier this season so it only makes sense they were already in a rebuild mindset and will look to develop younger drivers that show potential. McLaughlin has one more season to prove his worth (Indy 500 or Championship) or he'll be gone next fall.

IMO, Herta won't make it to F1.

I really like Herta. But I get the feeling his time has more or less passed. He's crazy fast when all of the stars align, but he can't grab a slightly off car by the neck and wring it out. Yeah, he's made some crazy saves in his day, but I just get the feeling he's not in the game the same way. Its a shame, I admire him in many ways, particularly the way he's honored dad.
