Any experience with wireless back up cameras ?
Hey guys , our new to us used 5th wheel camper came with a wireless back up camera . But the seller ( 2nd owner ) did not have the monitor . I can find no name or model number on the camera so it looks like the best route is to buy a new kit . New kits are all over the place for prices .
Many of the monitors can handle multiple cameras . That got me thinking , one camera on the back of the camper and one in the truck bed so I can see the gooseneck ball when hitching up . So any of you using wireless cameras ? Any good ? Interference issues ? Any brands better than others ? Looks like 7 " monitors are the preferred size .

Had one a while back, didn't work very well. Probably the units today are better.

Wireless adds a layer of complexity, I would recommend wired.
My pickup had a topper on it, the PO painted the inside of all of the topper windows with black paint... argh. Got a wired unit with monitor off amazon for $80 or so, worked fine, had plenty of cable. Neigh-bor friend has horses (see what I did there?) and she has multiples in her truck and horse trailer - bumper of truck, inside trailer, back of trailer.

A wired camera on the camper is a hassle that I am not willing to do . I am hoping modern wireless is good enough .

Order off of Amazon, if it sucks just return it. Not much to loose there.

Phone screen is too small in my opinion . A 7 " screen much better in my opinion and that's what most of these use .

I had one from amazon in my horse trailer, the transmitter died after about 18 months. I went wired, but I understand your reluctance. I have 4(!) cameras run thru a video switchbox-1 on rear of trailer, one in the horse area to monitor them underway, the normal bumper cam, and yes, one mounted on back of cab to view the gooseneck. You still have to get out once or twice as its hard to tell whether you're directly over the ball lengthwise, but it does make aligning it while backing easier.

I installed exactly one in a skid steer. I hated it. It was only "wireless" to the extent that there's no communication wire. It still needed power as did the monitor. I could have installed a wired system in the same amount of time it took to install the "wireless" I also had troubles with electrical interference.
