Late model pos bmw is all you need to know in this situation…

If there is anything I hate more than a steering wheel that isn’t centered, it’s door dings. I have been parking a mile away from other people for years. 5 out of 10 times I come out to find someone parked right up against me even with a lot full of empty spots. I have an amazing PDR guy.

You would think the safest place to not be messed with is a car show. Last year I put my 911 in a car show and stepped away for 5 minutes and came back and a woman had opened my door and was in the process of sitting behind the wheel. My wife took care of it before my rage kicked in

I always flip my mirrors in so some crazy b1tch doesn't hit them with her shopping trolley/cart.

This is why I park in BFE. My wife loves it.:D

You guys are really missing all the fun in this.

What you do is, turn the P-car around and park REALLY close to the BMW, so he can't get in.
Then, get out and just walk away and wait....

I think the BMW was gauging his spot by the distance from you....which he did fairly well.
If you were centered in your spot...he likely would be parked in the middle of his also..imo.

Yes, he left the same amount of room between us, as the parking spot to his right, but somebody’s going pull in and the BMW driver will have to squeeze into his car.

I’m thinking it’s just common sense to park between the lines, but then some people couldn’t color between the lines either.

I don't recall ever getting a door ding ... even my POS F150 is undented ... except for the tailgate :D

I did that.

If a shady spot is 500' out ... I need the exercise :)

I would have done the same thing the BMW did. Chances are good you will still be there when he returns. Even if you left, the next guy will probably park closer to the curb as well. Why would he park in the middle of the spot, making the other side of the car more exposed to a ding?

Agreed.. Also I will generally choose to park next to the Porsche that staggered like that, because I know *I* will not ding his door (and neither will my trained kids) and kinda protect him from some other uncaring driver, and I too will benefit from the extra space not not get dinged myself on the other side (maybe). But of course you don't know that, that BMW could be a person like me, or could be a ding dong with no clue. I've seen worse.

I picked up a ding on the top of my trunk (above licence plate) this week, no idea how folks did this to my car !

A930Rocket 05-12-2025 07:23 PM

Same parking spot today.

Did the car get parked there? If so, that's a First Class A Hole.

A930Rocket 05-12-2025 09:02 PM

Maybe he was waiting for his significant other, but when I left, he was still there.

If you look at the far left, you can see the curb, that I pulled up against last week.

No buggy this time
