Pennies On The Dollar...

Well, with things in Hollywood as jumbled as I've ever seen them, another prophouse is going under. My old friend has some beautiful stuff but he is a bit of a hoarder. Could never pass up a deal and could never let anything go.

The pandemic and then the labor strikes took their toll. Now he's had some health issues and is going to have to sell the business. It's a major blow to Set Decorators, he has some great stuff and they're going to lose another valuable resource. This isn't stuff you can get from Amazon or Home Goods.

But one's misfortune is another's good luck and I am finally getting the one piece he had that I wanted.

The desk from the office of Sherriff Walter Longmire...

The funny thing is I was the one who procured the desk for the pilot episode, it's from the turn of the century, very rare and solid wood. Weighs a ton and it's all mine!

The oil rig accent pieces will probably go to "Landman". They film in Texas and wanted to grab them for the decorator before they were snapped up.

Very cool! That looks like the sort of place where I could pick up something like this. But I assume it would be $$$

He's got Bank Of England swivel chairs. I'll check on a price, I've bought them before and they can run $500-750 new. It will be much cheaper.

That certainly stands out as unique, and is eye catching!

It would really be something if it was an actual geode! (and would probably be 6-figures $$ at least).

Looks almost like Jesse Pinkman's speakers from Breaking Bad behind the thunder egg desk (but I assume it's more Jane the Virgin set)

Very well could be. He bought out shows filming in New Mexico (both BB and Longmire shot there). Which ones are they? I never watched BB.

Looks like it could be the big Tamiya 1/350 kit. However, for some reason it looks bigger?? That Tamiya kit is huge, almost 30” long built.

You can just make out one of my antennas forward of the starboard elevator between the white life raft canisters, lol.

Great score on that desk!

Once, while walking around somewhere in Hollywood, I happened by a shop full of movie props...mostly stuff that looked like it came right out of Frankenstein's lab. Sure was fun looking around...

Dad's office had a lot of the stuff in your barrister's collection

That sideboard thing behind the rounded wood table, if it is teak and is incredibly heavy, twin of the one behind his desk. Now resides at my best friend's house, said it soaked up a pint of oil after he cleaned it up. It practically glows
