Found Tulsa and Leon dvds yesterday ... I like them too!

I like Peter Tosh on the island ....

I don’t wanna get …like…banned for calling him out so let’s not try to guess who I’m talking about
Yep, my post #13 in this thread, same thing. It's EXTRA surprising to me when these filler words are typed out.

lol. we had the same thought. like…you must be my brother from another mother

i do think it curious that people 20 years younger than me use this “like” word. i was definitely a teen age 80s kid when moon unit and the valley girl stuff was popular yet know nobody my age that uses it in that way that’s from my generation

My buddy's wife starts 5 out of 7 sentences with a "Ya, No"...... Horrible verbal crutch.

Or guys that have served time that end a statement with "you know what I mean?" or "you feel me?"

Lately, my kids and their friends place restaurant orders starting with “I’m gonna do…”. Makes my head hurt.

What about the clowns on YouTube that have to 'go ahead and do' something?
Why can’t they just do it?

A woman in my life with the first name of Missus/Doctor unfortunately has a habit of starting her statement with "No..." regardless of the topic. I could say "Wow, the sunrise was very pretty this morning" and she might respond "No, we should plant the tomatoes in pots this year". Not as a counterpoint, just tossing out there what she wanted to say next. I'm left wondering if maybe the sunrise wasn't so pretty and that I'm just a poor judge of the morning eastern sky.

She knows how that space-filler comes across and works to avoid it, but ummm it keeps coming back.

Right?

Sports interviews seem to be overloaded with 'yeah, no, it's like....'

veering off topic but if you want to hear incredibly efficient dialogue (regardless of topic) check out All In podcast. I talk about these guys constantly for the topics and guests they have but the bedrock, to me, is the mastery of language. And 3 of the 4 are immigrants iirc.

I know, right???

It's like, no biggie boomer, so mid and stuff, like, no one even cares because, like, all the cool kids are like, doing it and such.

I had a girlfriend that broke me of saying I was "fixin" to do... She always asked me what was I fixin, and where were my tools.

A friend's wife was a waitress at a cafe that catered to a group that always ordered by saying "We be havin'...". After a while, the staff started calling them the 'webees'.
