What would you pay for this car
2003 C4S, 81K miles, needs motor. Looked at it today, ovwerall decent shape. Not sure what a 3.6 C4S needing a motor is going for these days. Owner passed away.

Tiptronic? No value to this guy!
|
Paint looks good in the pictures. I license plate should cover the patch on the front bumper. Interior. looks good as well. If it needs a motor/rebuild, you would be better off with a known history used engine with proper IMS repair. If you got the roller for under $15K you could break even. Make sure. the tiptronic is good as this would break the deal.

With unknown tiptronic health 8k-10k in my opinion .
|
Five grand. LS Swap.
|
Well, that's a good example to go in the "Porsche for under 10K" thread for sure!!!
On a side note, is there any way to change those hideous headlights? Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk |
Agree on the tip.....have to turn in my man card to drive it.......:D
Don't know on value stuff, Shaun - sorry. Moot point unless you buy it to flip it...... |
Five hundred bucks.

It's a parts car

That is a $35k car. Just subtract reconditioning costs. ;) The E type next to it, ooh baby!
|
5K but I am NOT in the market.
But the E type??? I want it! |

Tip isn't that bad. Perfect for the wifey to drive.

Interior looks tatty in spots.
It is a fairly common and unloved 911 model that needs a motor. So who would buy it? Probably someone planning to fix and flip. How much would they pay? Flip price, less healthy profit margin, less fix cost both cash and time, less something for the other problems that may turn up when it’s running. I dunno that that ends up at, not five figures. |
$10-12k engine cost. Several ads on car-part.com asking for core.
No idea on value. |
Good thoughts, thanks everyone.
I can get it for $6K but between motor and swap to manual (fairly easy) it will sit until this winter. Deciding this week. |

That math isn't bad. But it's not gotta have it either like an air cooled car would be. |

Time, you forgot to factor in the time needed to do the work as well as the down time not driving it. Personally, I'd buy one that runs. |
