				Kettering Health ransome attack

Last week some hackers launched a ransom attack on the Kettering Health system here in SW Ohio. They are expected to be down for at least 10 days, maybe a month. Access to all records is being denied, elective procedures have all been cancelled.

Kettering is the best health care system in SW Ohio and a LOT of people are affected. We're in the middle of switching health insurers and the various companies want records SOON, or we will be denied insurance. What a mess.

Yikes. That's why cyber-security is so important, especially for companies. Anything involved with money, healthcare, and govt (courts, law enforcement, etc...) should be VERY well protected. I suspect the 2 biggest problems are that servers/software don't get patched and hardened like they should and users are idiots. I suspect that most of the time the first foothold is due to some moron clicking on a link or file in a bogus email.
