Is there a food you recently found out you shouldn’t eat?

Cherries aren’t good to me. A family friend went cherry picking last week and gave us a bagful. They were ripe, dark red/purple and delicious. Holy crap they gave me the worst stomach cramps and gas ever. And I only had four or five of them. I’ve never laid a fart at the gym until last week and I cleared the room. It was embarrassing.

LOL! Interesting. Have you had "fresh" cherries from the store? Did you wash the cherries that your buddy gave you?

Moo shu…

So far, the only thing is brussels sprouts. Those things are horrible.

Nothing that I am allergic to or anything

Italian and pizza, the spicy sauce just gives me nasty heartburn- still doesn’t stop me, but I usually regret it later.

Are we related? :D

I do the same thing. I know I'm gonna be up at 2 or 3 in the morning wishing I hadn't eaten all that pizza. But I can't help myself! I must eat the pizza.

Not recently, more like when I was 14. My grandfather had fig trees. We were harvesting them and I ate one for about every 2 or 3 that went in the basket.

I can eat them dried but as delicious as fresh ones look my belly starts rumbling every time I consider giving them another go.

+2. No left over pizza around me.

I'm just glad Italian food and pizza doesn't mess with me .... 'cause I'd still be a much bigger mess :D

Ice cream with beer.

A930Rocket 05-29-2025 06:06 PM

Dried apricots. I bought some at Costco the other day and I thought my belly was going to explode. But, they are delicious.

My only food I regret eating is hot or spicy food. Up until I hat 50 I loved it, but now as a geezer, I have horrible heartburn with anything even slightly spicy hot.

Spring and summer are always rough on my GI balance. It starts about now with strawberries coming on. I go out and pick strawberries to put on my Frosted Flakes, eat them for dessert after lunch, and with ice cream after dinner. For the rest of the summer, my GI system is bombarded by berries, fruits, asparagus, sweet corn, and other fresh produce it forgot about over the winter.

So ice cream and beer is really a thing?

I'd always had arthritis then went to an allergy doctor because I was (not exaggerating) losing the use of my hands. He said don't eat lamb, you are very allergic to it . So I stopped and a week or so later my arthritis disappeared.

Pretty funny. Coming from the land of sheep and being allergic to them. But the joys of life with no arthritis are geed :)

Your story reminds me of something my parents joked about way back when when we were kids. We were driving through the Pacheco Pass--that agricultural valley that runs east from Gilroy to I-5. It's dotted with fruit stands. We had pulled over to one, and my parents were amazed at how inexpensive the prices were and wanted to buy several pounds of the cherries. One parent joked to the other (in Chinese, so somehow it's funnier): "Even if you sh t your pants [from eating so much], you still have to buy it."

^^^^ LOL ... back in '69 ... visiting sites in FL... by the side of the road orange groves...

10¢ - All the Freshly squeezed OJ you can drink!

There weren't a lot of other places to stop an hour later....

Some things you remember vividly imo ... like smells :D

Add pizza to that in the same day and wow it’s gonna be a rough night.
