That's not the truck I have, it's the truck I'd like to get to end the madness. I'm just having a hard time allowing myself to spend that kind of coin on a truck. My house, back in 1994, cost me $50,000 and came with two acres of ground. That truck, at Ford A/Z will cost me around 71K. I could save a few bucks and get an XLT with the Tremor package, but if I'm buying new, I figure I'm gonna get what I want.

I think I got it! Fuel Flame 20x9 with Falken Wildpeak AT4W HD. Little spendy at $4700 but should do the trick. Just have to get beyond Tire Rack saying I'll need to lift the truck for this to fit

Well! I hit the easy button and bought a set of take offs from a 2025 Tremor. No worries of fitment and they look nice. The style I bought are the ones on the truck in post #16

I thought so too. I was going to buy factory new Tremor wheels but by the time I added lug nuts, tire pressure monitors and then put some rubber on them, I'd have been a bit over $3000. That made $2200 for new take offs seem like a decent deal. I've seen the phone dial wheels that come on the Platinum for a lot less but IMO those things are hideous!

Plus! I have a "tesla screen" ordered, looking at some smoked headlights and taillights and going to have the front windows tinted to match the rear windows. That should give my truck a nice look. The best part of those Tremor wheels is, I don't need to do a lot of chrome removal since there a machined lip that brings all the pieces together.

Take offs (assuming OEM) are the way to go.
I don't trust aftermarket rims.

Yep! These are original equipment on the Tremor. Guaranteed to fit my FX4 Off Road that came stock with 33's on 18" wheels. Funny thing is, according to my GPS speedo on my phone, my speedometer is more accurate now than with the tires I was running. And the best part is, the wobble at 45mph, along with some of the noise I thought was a wheel bearing are gone! WOOOO HOOOO

Vin is that caribou? Prettiest super duty I've ever seen was two tone caribou and I think white gold. My '22 is a very similar color.

When I bought my 4Runner Trail (now TRD Off Road) they came with rims 1/2" wider and with stem protection for off-roading compared with the TRD Pro rims everyone was putting on their 4Runner for looks. They were selling the stock rims for $50-100 a wheel. They were all over the classifieds on the 4Runner forums.

I figure these auto engineers go to college to design the best wheels for the car/truck they're designing, don't mess with it.

I'm a stick with stock guy too on my trucks and most other vehicles I've owned over the years, except on my jeeps. My YJ came with 15" steelies with great offset that I ran 33x12.5s on. For the Rubicon I went with some Vision beadlocks after breaking chunks off the bead seat on 2 of 4 Methods I got second hand. Run 35's on it, and was able to reprogram the ECU for the larger tires, regearing and to reset the TPMS to zero with the J-Scan app. If you have a Chrysler I highly suggest looking into J-Scan, it's awesome, wish there was a GM equivalent.

Jeep Wrangler take offs are a dime a dozen, always funny to see folks asking 1200 bucks or more for a new set they've just taken off their rig. Even with new tires you are lucky to get $100 each due to the market being so flooded. My pops has never bought new tires for his jeep, he just shops for new take offs with rims for less than tires would be. He has like 3 sets now with bald tires out on the corner of his property.

A buddy in my club has a Tacoma TRD he takes out with us and has sheared his valve stems off 3 times out on the trail due to them being so close to the edge of the OE wheel. It does have the rigid TPMS stems that have no give, they just snap off. And he does not even go out on the big rocks with us.

This is a great solution! I did the same years ago on a past F150, takeoff Raptor wheels were a nice visual upgrade and a guaranteed fit.

Here's "The Pig" with its new shoes on. Keep in mind it's a W.I.P. My son and I are trying to figure out what to do next. He does vinyl wrap so we're discussing doing something like the King Ranch two tone on the lower part. He said wrapping the bumpers in the lower color would be "easy" so I'm deferring to him on this.

I'm planning on taking off the chrome window deflectors and bug deflector and replacing with smoked, getting smoked headlights and taillights, tinting the front door windows to match the back. But I think the new shoes are a nice addition.

Looks good! I had a 2008 F250 diesel and really felt like the headlights and orange mirror marker lights dated the look. If you haven’t already check out the retrofit source for headlights, they have some very high quality Morimoto ones that look very similar to the new SD trucks and are very high quality. My son did full LED lights using their stuff on his C6 Corvette, it’s OEM quality level.

Veering very OT here, but I installed Bilstein 5100 shocks and it transformed how that truck drove. Very highly recommended. Deleting the DPF, cat, EGR, and a tune was pretty nice as well.

I tried to get my wheel/tires to be just flush with the fenders. Think I got it about right. 20 x 9 wheels with +30 offset. 295/60-20 K03 tires.

I needed to make the wife happy and minimize the truck feel. Bilstien shocks and went form factory 20's to 18' Rotiforms with more sidewalls.

Truck feel? That's a F150. That damn thing is like riding on a cloud! When ya hit a transition on the road and damn near jump a lane... then ya got truck feel.

Morimoto is what my son has been saying I need to buy.

I love the look of the tire flush with the fender or just a smidge outside the fender but I worry about tossing stuff at the paint even with mud guards. One thing I've already noticed is, these tires grab more stuff than my old General Grabber ATX's did. And if the "lie o meter" is anywhere near accurate, they cost me about 2 mpg.

My mileage which was bad already (Tundra's are notorious for bad mpg) has gotten terrible. Maybe 15 mpg highway on a good day!

My last two trucks were Silverado's with 5.3 engines. Both got close to 20 mpg on the highway but they did have street tires and were slightly lowered vs the Tundra with a slight lift and big tires.

My highway speeds are about 75 mph so that's a big factor.
