I do believe anonymity is the name of that game, and I'll add, does it matter?

^^^^ This. The folks "behind the curtain" get 5 starz for cleaning this place up a bit recently and it's great!

Methinks I know who it "might be" tho

I vote Italian. So beautiful and sexy, but dependability is not their strong point. It was designed with passion, but maintenance can bankrupt you!

One of my friends bought a Fiat X19 new. Two years later he tried to open the driver's side door. The handle broke in his had. He wiggled over to the passenger side, and snap same thing. Two broken door handles. He had to remove the roof, and stand up while holding the roof, and reach the outside door handle. It was full of gremlins. He fixed the issues, and was happy to sell it.

They made a Ford Escort GT. Not an impressive car in any way.

I walked into a Nissan dealership a couple years ago, very interested in the new 400Z. Online, it looked like they had started with a fresh sheet of paper. But when you see it in person, its porky! And you quickly realize they did not start fresh. Its an iteration of the old platform.

The entire marketing campaign behind the new Z is that it's a throwback to the original...why would you have thought it was a fresh start???
