This is why I love the movies so much

For movies like this. Creative, deep, emotional, amateurish (so important for this movie, it was honest...Hollywood would have killed it) great story that is funny and unique.

One of the very few times where the Critic review score 97% is more important than the Audience at 83%. Reason was simple, this was supposed to be a kid friendly horror film. It is definitely not unless you want your kids to have nightmares. And parents sounded off in reviews.

I've been seeing the previews for it. It's not clear exactly what the story is, but it looked interesting. My curiosity is piqued.

I don't think I'll be showing that one to my grandkids any time soon.

They sleep through the night now for the most part.

Why ruin a good thing?

It looks "arty". I'm assuming that it might be OK for the 12 and up crowd or adults.

12 and up is fine. 10 is probably a little young but might be ok for the right kid. 9 and under, I don't think so. It's as much an adult movie, maybe more so, than a kid/family movie. Some families might get a lot out of it.

Looks interesting and creative. My kids are older so I probably won’t see it, but looks fun for a family. Has a bit of an ‘80s kid movie adventure vibe like ET and Goonies.

Ok.

So when is it a good time to introduce the grands to oldies like ‘Them! Or ‘The Creature From the Black Lagoon?’

I say it’s never too early to nurture their latent personality disorders.

Agree, disagree? What say ye?
