50 year old chainsaw brought to life

Hey guys , last year on a total whim I made a 60 dollar bid on ebay for a Echo 452 chainsaw . Seller said it didn't run . I won the chainsaw and it was delivered in about a week . Really in good visual shape . I checked for spark and that was solid . I bought a carb rebuild kit and new fuel and air filters . Then life got in the way

![]() By luck last week on the Next door Neighborhood app someone was talking up what a great job some guy did getting their weedeater running . What the heck I contacted the guy . He came to the house today and did the rebuild . Got the saw running and fine tuned the idle and lo/hi speed jets . All for 50 bucks ! It's a 1970's vintage with 45cc's and a 16 " bar . It has very good compression and sounds/feels VERY strong . I don't cut much wood and I have a newer Poulan my wife bought a few years ago . But there is just something cool about an old piece of machinery that is over built . It is all metal and doesn't have a chain brake . A widow maker . I will post a picture tomorrow.

Never be looking straight down at the cut. Hold and stand to the left side of it so when it kicks back it goes up over your right shoulder and not your face. |

Or a fresh new engine. I said it when I put the new crate motor in my El Camino. Then sat and ran it at 2,000 RPM for 20 minutes to break it in.

My father in law ran his Husqvarna thousands and thousands of hours over 50 years until it would barely start and would only run a few minutes. He was asking me to order parts for him which apparently no longer exist. He was saving up to buy an Echo, so I bought him a Stihl. Santa alomost cried when I gave it to him. Pretty sure my brother in law is going to steal it
