2025 Ridler award winner
Ridler 2025 is a swing and a miss. (Just my opinion) This car has some exquisite detailing, but it's not beautiful overall, because of a few misplaced elements, starting with, but not limited to, the headlights....

At least it’s not towing a hot tub on a two wheeled dolly.
So, there’s that.

Not really my cup of tea. But it doesn't suck.

Is the front bumper crooked (low on drivers side) or is that an optical illusion?
Sorta agree with OP on this.

Meh... 55 Chevys are really cool but that one just looks boring.

I’m sure the craftsmanship is incredible but I just don’t care. I want a car to drive and enjoy, that ain’t it. Yes I realize that’s not really the point of the high-end show car scene, I just think it’s dumb.

I guess it's fine. Does seem a little bland. Kind of cool that it is out of a tiny shop in a tiny town; Ramseur, North Carolina.

The image in the first post makes the car look...blah. But after looking at some of the detailed photos in the article, I was impressed. That's a nice engine bay!

I’m sure it’s a nice build, but I’m not a fan of the wheels and think it would look better in black.

The wheels are aluminum versions of the stock hubcaps and the window cranks look the same. Some amazing details.

Yeah, the rules are draconian, for sure. But the builders, and the patrons who write the checks know that going in. My issue with the 2025 winner is that it misses as a unified piece. It looks to me like an assemblage of very nice, very clever ideas that don't mesh well together.
Cars being built for the Ridler surpassed the $1 million mark years ago; you can make a case that Chip Foose is responsible for that, and frankly, I have no problem with that. He has good taste in automotive art. Taking a look at the finalists for the 2025 prize, the Nomad probably deserves to be in the great 8, but there are one or two cars that I think were superior in showcasing a continuous design theme. Here's a link if you're interested. http://americajr.com/news/2025/03/02/photos-see-the-8-finalists-for-the-ridler-award-at-detroit-autorama/
