Neighbors property
My neighbor about 500 yards up from my place is putting their house on 7 acres on the market. He and his wife are survivalists . They freaked out when Obama was elected and conveyed that this country would collapse. They triple fenced their property and went off grid. We have a road association and some minimal CC&R’s. Should be interesting to see what happens.

I bet they’re moving to Montana!
|
You should buy the place and prep for the Zombie Apocalypse!
|
Triple fenced? KILL ZONE! Just need to add search lights at the corners.

He has cameras mounted everywhere. Retired engineer/lawyer. What makes people so paranoid?

Idaho.... All the kooks and retired LEO go to Idaho. There are communities there that have an overwhelming % of retired LEO residents. My buddy has 2 sisters that married cops and both husbands have retired there. I will hold additional comments until after this thread is moved... |

I really don't get it at all. |
Will do, lol. Coincidently, first saw it while my daughter and I were trying to find a nice looking Longhood that she saw on the way home from work one day.

Must suck to be so fearful. That’s the root of paranoia.

Not in my world.... |
To recluse themselves, sure. The fences and cameras are no different than the bourgeoisie that live in gated communities with security or every suburban mom with a ring camera.
|
My brother in the PNW has a nutter living across his backyard fence. I actually worked with the guy for a few months less than 10 years ago and while seemingly eccentric then, he's in full bloom now. The nutter has a camera pointed directly at my brother's back patio.
My across the street neighbor is also quite paranoid. He sends me screen shots from his security cameras. The pics are exclusively of neighborhood dogs that wander into his yard (never mind his dog is routinely all over the place). Security camera installation services must have some great stories. |
The cameras everywhere deal seems to affect ex cops disproportionately.
Not sure if it’s correlation or causation.. |

Fences and foil are two completely different things, fences are a very reasonable item to control access to your property.
Foil is a crazy reaction to thinking you can block out radio waves, 5g mind control waves and other electronic signals from your property. Although it sends a strong message to normal people that you probably should be avoided! |

A fence and security cameras isn't weird at all, actually quite normal these days (I don't live in a gated community nor have I ever had security cameras). But "triple fenced" is VERY weird. |

I’m curious what triple fence means as well. There’s some studies that state a triple fence will deter deer from entering due to their depth perception. I’m probably wrong and the guy has a dmz built. |

I don't get the foil. That makes it very dark inside. This whole deal with what has been described is dark. Obama? Given the landscape today I'm totally confused about these folks. That's not PARF talking. That's friggen logic calling.
These folks' game score is tilt. |

Throw in expansion. They didn’t move to the city, the city moved to them….

@masraum, I understand how much traction odd stories get with today's info hiway and a focus on one situation can eclipse dozens that live in old airplane fuselages and such.
Add up the factors here and this is rather extreme, don't you think? What intrigues me is the outwards aspect of triple fences, etc. Absolutely no stealth to their attitude. What is this message? Where are they going? I don't care, it's just forum talk. |
This couple had intended to move to Chile. They bought property and eventually built a house. Supposedly they had a rough go with the contractor building the house but eventually it was finished. The more they visited the more they realized it was better here. I guess “the sky is falling” can be anywhere.

Is there a listing for this place? Be a fun read.

To be fair, the foil may just be cheap window insulation. Or hiding their meth lab or weed grow room. Who knows?;)

I’ll walk up the road to get the house numbers. The road is country circle, Nevada City,Ca. 95959
