I'm obsessed with the McLaren F1
As the subject states, I just can't seem to get enough of this car and its history. To this day, it still strikes me as the singular "perfect" car (if ever there was one)! I also enjoy the McLaren F1 GTR Le Mans backstory. An incredible motorsports tale...
That's all, carry on!

Yeah, one of my obsessions as well. The McLaren F1 book, Driving Ambition, is cool, but I wish they'd had more details about the engineering included. I've scoured the web looking for articles and good videos and such.
The Ruf Yellow Bird is also up there. Hell, the Porsche 911 is another albeit at a slightly different level.

I believe Jay Leno has one... he took it for a drive on his shoe, he said with a garage full of super-cars it still is his favorite and the it stacks up against any new super-car out there.

I like Leno's story of taking two guys for a ride up in the mountains and getting pulled over.

Yes, that's his car in one of the videos I posted (engine extraction). He has a few videos about his car.

Epic car, with an epic price tag. One of the all time greats, but a total unicorn to anyone with a net worth that doesn't require 9 units.

I just want a titanium bolt from one or any odd part that would set it apart from more pedestrian vehicles. It would be cool to have on a desk. I've got a piston and cyl from a 911, an aftermarket "H" beam titanium rod and the pinion gear out of Hank Watts' car. I've also got a head with valves from a 911 and a fan and shroud from my old '88 3.2, but those aren't on my desk. I want a magnesium valve cover, and a center cap for a Fuchs. I'd also like a 3 ear knock-off nut.

It is for sure. I have never actually seen one (an F1) in the flesh. I have seen plenty of their more recent offerings, including some in race trim, but that's just not the same.

Same here, never seen one in person. My neighbor has an MP4-12C that is an incredible car to drive.

Not really an obsession for me but a car I have fond memories of so I had a quick rummage about the house and found a few things
First chassis with the composite engineering team, me in the engine bay ![]() ![]() Random photo's, me in the drivers seat of EXP1 the first prototype. From end of design to first running car in only 1 year ![]() Found this in a box in the garage, should really hang it up, limited print Gordon Murray celebrating the first GTR win given to everyone on the design/engineering team, mine is 8/12. Hard to believe now how few people worked on creating the F1 ![]() ![]() I have quite a collection of 1/43 models both road and race versions. Only have a 1/18 car on display ![]()

I've long suspected that Captain Ahab had the coolest job ever. It is now confirmed.
