Stewart and Kalitta top fuel crash

Doug Kalitta and Tony Stewart got together at the end of a top fuel run, could have been much worse , both OK I think. Watch video and you can see just what happened to cause Kalitta to swerve. Can you catch issue before end of the video interview?

Front tire failure. Doug was lucky Tony was there the absorb some of the impact!

He's got icewater in his veins. He was pretty calm during the interview!

Odd in the interview that Kalitta said "left rear." Or maybe not so odd as what can you see and feel at 330 MPH? A good thing one or both didn't start barrel rolling. Relatively mild collision for what it could have been.

I'm pretty impressed with Tony Stewart's rise in NHRA over what, five years?

I'm pretty sure an interview with Tony would have been a little bit different.
That was a pretty wild ride for both of those guys.
Glad they're OK.

And yes, Tony's rise thru the ranks has been pretty interesting to watch.

Tony Stewart essentially bought an up and running team and infused a good deal of money into it to bring it up a notch. He was very conscious when he did that of having the appearance of "buying his way to the front", and really wanted to earn the respect of his fellow racers while he learned the game. So, he drove an alcohol car for some time before stepping into the Top Fuel car. He's done a good job with the team, learning the ropes, and earning that respect from the other teams. I think he has matured a great deal from his NASCAR days. I'm rooting for him. The NHRA needs some fresh blood. Oh, and his wife will return to a Top Fuel car next year as well. They might prove to be pretty tough to beat.

LOL Leah Pruett-LeDuc-Pritchett-Stewart?
It's like her and Angelle Seeling-Savoie-Sampey are having a contest.

I thought Tony's Top Fuel ride was his wife's car and when she got pregnant she turned over the seat to Tony, and she is taking it back next season.

It was never her car. She was paid to drive it for Don Schumacher.
There were rumors of some shady stuff for her to get that ride many years ago. Giggity.

When Don's health went downhill he sold the entire program to Tony Stewart.
I believe that included Matt Hagan's car and team.
So basically she drove for the new boss, then married him. Hmm.
Eventually he started driving his own car and she had a baby.
I guess technically she owned half the car at that point. Giggity again.
No, he's a smart guy. pre-nup.

And now ...... TSR is working out a deal with elite motorsports in some sort of partnership.
Coincidentally elite is buying out Josh Hart's entire program at the end of the year.
I'm betting that's what Leah will be driving next year.

Does that mean she will have to marry Elite motorsports?

Josh said he'll end up driving but as a paid driver, not an owner.
I took that as him being hopeful.
Maybe he'll replace Britany Force?
it's like a soap opera.
