NFL Football starts tonight!

Well...not the reg season. That starts in Sept.
Not the preseason either. That starts next week.

It's the 'Hall of Fame Game' from Canton, Ohio!!
This year it's the LA Chargers against the Det Lions.

Game time is 8pm edt and televised on NBC

Steelers play their first preseason August 9. I'm hoping to see a lot of Will Howard with QB 1 and 2 pretty much already settled.

Would be a good one for Peacock to televise....but they will wait for Lions vs Vikes or Packers.
I heard they are doing all the SNF games this year.

Just saw this....I had almost forgotten about him.

A tragic ending to the Lions/Falcons pre-season game last night.
Detroit's Morice Norris took a hard hit and had to be ambulanced to the hospital.

Both head coaches agreed to not finish the game and let the clock run out.

An update from the Lions today....good news.

Morice Norris is in stable condition and has feeling and movement in all his extremities. He will remain at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta overnight for observation.

I didn't get to watch, but it looks like the Steelers combination of first and second string offense, most of the starters sat out the game, was able to move the ball well.

My pre season football was ruined when they said Will Howard has a small broken bone on his throwing hand and will likely be out three weeks.

QB1 and 2 positions were already a given with Rodgers at 1 and Rudolph at 2. Will was in line to get a lot of playing time, and I think the organization was hoping he'd get a lot of playing time, in the preseason games. The talk is that the Steelers will go after a QB in the draft next season due to all the draft picks they've accrued through trades and I think compensatory picks. I think the organization would have liked to see more of Howard in the preseason to determine if they really got a steal in the draft this year. I personally think they did. He has a good arm, good accuracy, good athleticism allowing run when a play breaks down or by design, and seems to have a pretty high football IQ. I don't know if Rodgers was just being kind, but he had some pretty high praise for Howard.

Lions finish out the preseason with one win and three ugly losses.
Oh well..at least they don't count.

The Panthers open against the Jags .... I've already congratulated my Jax buddy on the win to start their season off ..

Gonna be another typical year.... Panthers will suck again and I'll watch other teams play great football games instead

I didn't see the Lions game....but on this mornings sports, they showed a field goal attempt by the Lions back-up kicker. The snap and placement of the ball were both perfect...but the kicker completely missed the ball with his kick. I don't think I've ever seen that before.
