The racer channel occasionally shows some trials riding.
I dont think I could climb, on foot, some of the things they guys are riding over, with no foot dabs.

I've always had better than average balance but those riders are way beyond any level that I can think of including some acts in the circus or other balancing acts like the handstand on a chair with only one leg on the floor.

Graham Jarvis came out of the Trials world. Dude is 49 or something and is one of the top hard enduro riders in the world. I have seen videos of him going up walls which appear to completely defy laws of physics. So yes. Trials riders are pretty impressive.

Moto trials is so insane! I think there's a comp every year in the Taos/Red River area that I always regret missing.
Besides the homestead-era wagon roads, most of the very fun and challenging mtb trails in the Los Alamos area were established by a bunch of trials-focused moto riders over the last 50y. There are still a few that use their machines to maintain the system. Lugging a chainsaw 10 miles in is far easier with >1hp. (most) Local motos ride gently and respect all of the other users. Newcomer hikers/bikers get pretty uppy until they understand how chill the motos are and how much work they do for the rest of us.

I have ****ty balance, and tinnitus. I honestly wouldn't even climb on the perches the spotters use - let along be grabbing for errant motorcycles. Total respect for this brand of cycling.
I always wondered about Jarvis, et al. Those top hard enduro guys use their bikes like extensions of their bodies to get up and over slippery and steep. And, of course, they're fearless on the most hellacious of downhills.

The stuff they do today is mind boggling, I competed in the 70’s and 80’s and thought we were doing some amazing things then the Worlds were held here. They were on another level. The equipment is also much much better. Started on a Bultaco Sherpa T, a tank compared to new generation. Now ride a Sherco which is quite fun. I watch the indoor trials, Tony is incredible, they are doing stuff that defies logic. They may not have a bagger class but they do have a sidecar class.

I always think they should be using trials bikes or atleast smaller lighter bikes on some of those hard enduros that they are trying to do crazy stuff with big heavy bikes. Seems like they would make up all the lost time from the fast sections as long as they could get past all of the stuck exhausted guys on their 450s

Does anyone ride 450's on hard Enduro? I thought it was mostly 200-300 2 strokes.
I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Oh yeah I guess your right. They are getting lighter all the time too. Still probably 100 pounds more than a trials bike. I just think it would be fun to see a mix. Like goodwood racing minis vs mustangs. They need to do that more in all forms of racing really.

Careful what you wish for.
These guys are, of course, just a bunch of jack asses looking for attention.
