clearly, I have zero clue to what 6.2 miles looks and feels like. I mapped one today, and ran it.
it was only 5 miles according to my GPS watch. faaackkk... my dog was looking at me like WTf every time I missed a corner he was used to. I think I know how to get closer to 6.2. I'll try it mid week. I am sub 10 minutes tho with dog pee/poo side excursions and looking for trashcan to toss the baggies.

A mile is pretty far especially when you are on foot. I have a bunch of landmarks in my neighborhood that I know are specific distances from my house.
About 20 years ago, long before GPS watches, I several times ran what I figured was a 5 mile loop in my neighborhood and it made me sore for days. Now with GPS, I found that route is less than 2 miles! Good luck on your race Vash.

LOL! I can see that being a loss. Fortunately, I'll eat just about anything, so my wife could pick pretty much anyplace that she likes and I'd be fine.

I don't have GPS or just don't use them. Usually I just drive the course and stick to it. I can run the same route or ride the same thing for years. this way, I know how to run or ride it and where to turn on the gas for a better workout to my advantage. When I ren, from my parent's house to the blvd through the neighborhood was 1.2 mile. I go right for about 1/2 mile, come back up to home. On the way home, there was a hump of about 1.4 miles then down hill. That hump always hurt because that was where I turn up the gas. I hate running down hill once I found out it was bad for the knees. I ran that loop twice for two years in my last two years of high school every Saturday before dinner.

If anyone is running and wants to know more about their "course", if you've got a smart watch or smart phone that could go along with you, get the strava app. That'll keep track of the distance, time, etc...
