California Recycling - Gotta Love It
Interesting observation. I was eating off a paper plate today and I happened to notice the writing on the plate "Compostable Except in CA". What's up with that?

In California only fine bone china is allowed for composting. It’s Not Alabama ferchrissake!

We have all kinds of compostable paper products here. We’re also putting our scrap food material with our green waste. So, since we’re reusing that material for natural purposes, they’ve become selective about the chemicals used to make the products, dyes etc.
We’ve had our own compost bin for years. Pretend you’re in the Carolinas and just put it in the pile on the north side of the house.

I toss plastic in both our recycling and general garbage bins. Probably should toss all plastic in general, as the plastic is shipped overseas and then dumped into the oceans world wide.
