Plants communicate?
Yup!!
Holly leaves change shape when under attack. Not just that tree, but surrounding trees.  Trees in the Amazon send "seeds" in the air to initiate rain.

I think my daughter told me the largest living organism on the planet is a particular forest somewhere that all the trees are linked via root system. IIRC they act in concert and communicate.

Aspens IIRC have communal root communities. Might be confused with another variety.
