Cars are pretty simple for standard repairs. Where it gets tricky is with the new encryption requirement for the ecms. Anyone here can replace a transmission, i bet a few here can even follow a YouTube video and rebuild one…. Resetting the computer is now a hurdle.

I have one LR specific code reader. Cost me around $500. It will read stuff that most folks cannot access.

Then there is my 2001 Range Rover... It has air suspension and also requires very specific software. I got the software from a guy that developed it on his own for around $150. But that is just for the air suspension.
