"Oh, I almost forgot, it's manual."

Of course it is. (His car.)

His 997 - that's exactly they way I would have ordered it (except for the white paint). Almost no options, the steering wheel looked great with no buttons on it. It's a shame that these days you can't simply walk into a Porsche dealership and order a base Carrera optioned like that anymore.

For me it's a moot point because I really don't care for the 992, whether it's a "T" or not (I like the shift knob, that about it).

All I could see are many varied plastic pieces to be nickel plated. I have to go to a dealership now.

My 997.2 steering wheel is just like his.

I too like that shift knob.

The new 911T is at the top of my things I really want to buy list.

If I could just get over Porsche's issue with "right to repair", I might actually buy one.

I heard a story that a bunch of Porsches in Russia turned into bricks when their satnav went out and the car thought it was being stolen

So glad the big three are doing car videos again….

I recall the 991 being miserable to DIY, such as removing the rear bumper cover to replace the air filter. Is that the case with the 992? There’s also something wrong about a 911 with a digital dash, I love the traditional dials. I also find the front end rather generic and bulbous, they smoothed out the 911 fenders which gives it a generic look.

Maybe I’m just getting old but it really does nothing for me. If I was gifted $120k with the condition that it had to be spent on 911s, I would buy a 996TT and an SC or Carrera coupe.

Edit:actually the 911T starts at $143k in the US. But my statement is still the same.
