Image used in Pelican Email
Was curious for those of you who get Pelican's advert emails - today this image was used - did others see the same one? I ask since this is my car/photo - wondering if they used it generically or if somehow they aligned my picture with my email address

Idea... If they use your car, Pelican throws in a extra discount for X time period.
Also It does not seem that long ago, when Pelican did not have pictures and I think Oldskul made a gallery we linked to. Crazy how this inteweb thing caught on.. .

Are they allowed to do this?

If that is your pic and you posted it on Pelican I think you gave up your copyright. Here's the Goggle AI sumation:
No, you do not automatically give up your photo copyright by posting on a forum, but you do grant the platform a license to use the image, and other users can easily copy it. The original creator retains copyright unless they formally transfer it, though online platforms often have user agreements that grant them a license to use your photos in various ways, often non-exclusive and royalty-free. This means the platform can use it, but it doesn't mean they own it or that others can use it without your permission. |

yeah - I shared that photo in a thread somewhere - probably in the "art shot" thread .... so they get free use at that point I think....
Was just curious if they linked me together, or just used it generically - sounds like everyone got it....

I don't think the background is unique - at least one person above mentioned they saw the same image... It is definitely my car and my photo. The plate frame was the one that came with the car when I bought it (have since removed it)...
I'm sure the forum rules have a statement somewhere that says once we post here we lose rights ... even if we don't read the fine print

No, the background is not unique. I said it was unique to you. Your car with that skyline.
