I don't think this guy likes 'us'...

He has a '69 Camaro, an '83 911, and an opinion about the people that frequent this site...

Here's my favorite quote from his post:

"I am having problems with the car and have posted a few times regarding the problem and I get some ideas that are pretty lame, with no real mechanics or DIYer's that have a clue what symptoms are and how to correct them. In a word, worthless. One guy actually told me the problem that I am having is that I don't drive it enough, and put some techron in it and change the oil! He actually said the car was lonely! Anyway, I enjoy this site and everybody here seems to be WAY more mechanically inclined than the nerds on the Porsche site. I am a car guy, not a Porsche guy."

I believe you get what you pay for.

What a d1ck! I hope he never visits again. If he is such a technical wizard himself, why did he "replace every electrical known to man", then visit this site and ask for help? If he had any technical ability he could have tried to troubleshoot the problem and not just replace stuff. Oh well, a fool and his money are parted. 69 Camaro.....wonder if he has all of his front teeth :)

well, his name on pelican is: Team Caffeine

rick conrath 07-24-2003 07:12 PM

His car probably stumbles in first , fourth and fifth as well. He just hasn't figured out that he has a five speed yet.

Driving your 911 on a daily basis is very healthy for the car....letting it sit around is no good, everything eventually just siezes up.

here's his post, btw:

Muahahahahahaha, I just revived his original thread. He is banned from the SCWDP!! Wonder if he'll reply.

nostatic 07-24-2003 07:59 PM

he quoted my advice...I'm so proud.

What a piss ant. I'll bet he didn't even try the Techron...

bell 07-24-2003 08:06 PM

Maybe he referred to you as a nerd because he thought your avatar picture was really your "LAX employee badge" photo!:D

Just kidding, I knew what you meant by your advice.

Nice Nostatic. You made me proud!

slater 07-24-2003 08:15 PM

It's a wonder he figured out where the ignition was

nostatic 07-24-2003 08:15 PM

well, that was my badge picture until they fired me. Something about me shooting at a couple of people who looked cross at me. Thankfully the USPS is always looking for a few good men...

as most here know, I don't really mind when people take the piss out of me...in fact for awhile I think it was on track to become an olympic sport. BUT, that only goes for people I respect and count as "friends" (ie most everyone on this board). That doesn't extend to whiny ingrates. And besides, Mopar rules, chevy drools.

Doug Zielke 07-24-2003 08:22 PM

Hey guys....cut this moron a bit of slack.
After all, he did try to solve his car's problem by replacing the airbox straps.

Aim for the stars! Besides you could always use the DMV as a fall-back option!

As I posted on the other thread, the problem with his car is probably just a bad case of instant karma . . .

k9handler 07-24-2003 09:25 PM

I can't believe how quick people are to judge, he probably didn't stay around long enough to get the information.

MotoSook 07-24-2003 09:38 PM

That guy better wake up or I'm sending my associates over to his house and take his 911 to a better home :)

"I enjoy this site and everybody here seems to be WAY more mechanically inclined than the nerds on the Porsche site. I am a car guy, not a Porsche guy." Darren Webb, refering to the other site.

Um...one of the reason I hang out on Pelican is because we like to work on our cars!

Someone is a little pissed he didn't get instant gratification.

Well Darren, have you solved your problem yet, since you are so good with your tools and have such good mechanical knowledge?

Your camaro is good off the line, but the engineering that went into that car was taught in my 7th science class grade class :D ..does that make me a nerd?

..as we like to say in the motorcycle world.."even a monkey (or a really good Camaro wrencher) can go fast in a straight line"
