OK, what is the point of a watch that can go OVER 3 miles deep? When is that ever needed for anything? It is kinda cool however.

That's the static pressure at that depth. You can get really high instantaneous, localized pressure on a seal by moving the watch sharply while underwater. In other words, shaking the watch at 100 ft. might be as hard on the seals as it sitting still at 5,000 ft.
