The '15 was a great looking plane but had serious flaws, a point the sabre capitalized on to help get the 10 to 1 kill ratio.

(I know, that's not a '15 gettin all blowed up).

The Russian's will tell another story.

What i hear was, that the Mig 15 was superior to the Sabre, just not flown by superior pilots applying superior tactics and strategy..And last but not least, the Sabre pilots had a G suit

Mig-15 pilots did not.

But the Mig 15, was not worse then the F86, some say it was actually more agile, lighter, and would have been a better dogfighter if they would have had G-suits

I love that show on the military channel called dogfights. Musta seen every one a go-zillion times.

The mig had a better ceiling, was faster and turned better at high altitudes, had better guns, climbed better, but was slower and turned poorly at low altitudes. the 86 had a much better gun sight.
The MIG could also loose control in a high speed dive near mach 1.

If a mig pilot made the mistake of fighting low or flat, he was toast. The sabre pilots knew better than to fight high or go vertical, so you could say their tactics gave them the advantage because they capitalized on the Mig's flaws better than the mig pilots capitalized on the F86's limitations.

Anyone know why they had to put those ribs on the wings?

To help low speed/high alpha control.

The tail strike occurred during at a 1990 airshow in Harrison, Arkansas. Photographer, who was a technician for the FAA and somewhat of a camera buff, was tracking with his camera, as this guy looped off the deck in a MiG-15.

The pilot had just completed a loop and misjudged his pull-out. Everyone considering themselves as potential victims, took-off running in all directions. But the photographer had a non-threatening position along with a strong motivation to take the picture. So just as the MiG scraped the ground, he captured this rare image…

Oh, by the way, the guy just made a wide circle, lowered his landing gear, touched down . . then taxied in showing scratched paint, but no sheet metal damage.
