Note the Scour where the dam drained when failed in 2005 releasing 4 mill m3 of water in 12 mins.. yikes..

California has a sheet-pot-full of power plants.
 The biggest and bestest and most cost efficient one of them all was closed down last year by those with severely limited mental capacity who were scared of what they don't understand. BOO! The brownish items inside the red circles are steam turbines, 1.5 million hp each. I've been a member of the crews that rebuilt both of them.
