A piece of flat bent wood + Animal gut + Pointy piece of wood.

I know. It's ok.
It won't affect humanity or history.

The breadth of the distribution of this haplogroup, and the extrapolation that roughly 0.5% of the world's population carried the same Y chromosome together with age estimates led to the idea that Khan himself might have left a lasting genetic impact across Asia."

I did that once on the 57 freeway in the middle of the day.
I was driving my buddy's 23 T bucket with a blown 350 (about 550 hp, 1800#).
We were going about 65 when he said, dump it down to second and jump on it. I figured, hey what could go wrong??????

I tried real hard to pretend I did it on porpoise but he didn't buy it.

The following is taken from a short story by E.K. Gann, Old Number One, published in his book, Ernest K. Gann’s Flying Circus.

“Slonnie was incapable of snobbisim, nor did he subscribe to the prevalent airline-pilot hauteur as a standard for his own estimation of other flying men. I have heard him lament, with full complement of rueful gestures, ‘Hell … that man will never learn to fly!’ Often enough he was referring to a ten- or fifteen-thousand-hour airline veteran, and when I stopped to consider the addressees of Slonnie’s invective I could only agree. The typical man he scorned was indeed a pilot, a rough and mechanically thinking driver totally preoccupied with the pay and seniority aspects of his job. Such a man could tell you instantly his bidding prowess according to seniority, the pay details of every run on the system, the exact date of his retirement and all the emoluments to be received thereof; but the runways all along his route were dented with his landings and his most elemental maneuvers were erratic and uncertain.”

In simpler terms, that is a h e l l of a lot of tire smoke coming out from under that MD-11.

Wow - And I just thought someone got luck and recorded a crash. Amazing!!!

Regarding airliner tires and smoke, wouldn't some type of vane (?) or device that would make the tires spin forward prolong tire life since they would already be turning when they hit the runway? (hit the ground running - I amaze myself )

Random:

Shinola - actually made in Detroit. And Millennials have know idea about the name...

name...
The life of a tire is not just the thickness of the tread, but also its age. I wonder if more tires are placed because of age maintenance/schedule than actual wear and tear.
