The “snow” Mrs. Ketchem described was actually asbestos dust escaping from the Johns-Manville plant and dumps. And it is this type of exposure to asbestos that has been found to cause asbestos-related diseases, such as mesothelioma. In fact, according to the New Jersey Department of Health Environmental Health Services, the mesothelioma rates in Somerset County (where the Manville plant was located) are approximately five times higher – 105 per million males and 21 per million females – than the average New Jersey rate and about seven times the national rate. These numbers include not only individuals who worked at the Manville plant, but also household members of workers and residents of the town.

Cheer up, Lord Grumpus.
I remember my mom peeling tar off my feet from that very beach.

(this is really, really funny in context..)

I LOVE this hairstyle on women.

El Segundo is a fantastic community oriented city in the South Bay. It offers a great small town feel, charming downtown and Main Street areas, award winning schools and proximity to the beach. From a real estate perspective, however, parts of El Segundo do have their challenges….and it’s all about the location.

The challenge El Segundo has is that it happens to have some less than appealing neighbors. Directly to the north lies LAX, or Los Angeles International Airport. To the west lies the Hyperion Waste Water Treatment Plant. To the south lies the Chevron Oil Refinery,

The Craigster, Lowyder993, and I just went surf fly fishing there a couple months ago. Pulled in a few barred perch off Baz's illustration.

Mayberry on acid is what we always called it.

That place smelled like a sardine's anus when I was a kid. El Stinko.

Always found it funny that people wanted to pay a LOT of money to live there.

I don't promote violence but this is just too funny to not post. If you don't like hockey you won't understand.

Glad to see I wasnt the only one who thought that.

Strange to think a charter service to Catalina requires such a huge building.

It's not necessarily bad.

Not exactly the same, but...

Natalie Dormer is so hot, she could go Sinead O'Connor and I'd be ok with it.
