Actually, the 914 was supposed to be the VW replacement for the Karmann Ghia, but Porsche was basically bankrupt. They decided to make it a Porsche (and VW in Europe) to save Porsche. It worked.

The 924 was also supposed to be a VW... repeat. It was an Audi, built by Audi.

VW, Porsche, Audi were all 'together' then.

Porsche was 100% independent back then. It was just recently when Porsche tried to buy VW that they had a margin call and had to sell to VW. The Porsche family owns 51% of VW.

I saw my what might have been my first 2017 Cayman 718 at the gas station today. It was looking extra nice in this color.

Looks better in real life than in photos.

Several guys in our local chapter of the SCCA always jokingly referred to it as the Audi GT.

The answer is, the area rule only mattered to designers of early fighters, who struggled with underpowered jet engines.

Most Science Fiction of today is "after the apocalypse" and how bad it will be in the near future. That is one reason I have always loved Star Trek. It has a positive outlook on the future. The apocalypse theme is worn out. I sure wish they would get a new plot for the TV shows and movies.

I totally agree!

Star Trek is more "adult" than most sci-fi films and series, others are fun, but its basically the same-o, same-o, fight, rescue, find the princess, destroy the base, and get an award, Gene Roddenberry was a genius.
