Here's a Hughes 500D.
Only 420 hp, though.

Some might say that it was Superior to the other Great Lakes. :P

unless you were Barbie which would make you love Lake Hillier, but then you might also wonder why you were covered in shrimp.

Cash -

I'm sure I've posted a few times on my past flying, some pictures here and there too, most recently on that Christmas tree sling load thread.

Most of my time is in AStars (about 3000 hrs in those) but a lot of 206 time, AS355, Robinson and some Schweizer 300.

Edit: Schweizer without the "t"

I think the *idea* is cool - but pilots have told me that the NOTAR has poor tail rotor authority (yaw control) in hot/high situations. And in crosswinds.

Of course, your tail rotor can't kill and maim as effectively with a NOTAR.

I saw one like that doing power line work a while back, in Roseville on Foothills Blvd. I don't know what they were doing, but he had a large "cross bar" that he dropped across the high-tension wires.

Yeah I believe it was. She was either enroute to or from something in the LA area. I personally did not see her because she had left by the time I arrived. The other guys were talking about it. Said she looked and was exactly like she was on the show a few years ago.

Many, many years ago at the Reno Air Races, they had a demo with the NOTAR. They claimed the pilot was one of only five or so that had some type of "Unlimited" rating in helicopters. I give him credit because in front of thousands, he did several barnstormers loops in it and many other maneuvers that weren't possible in a helicopters, so I thought . Very unusual to see a helicopter do loops. Like previously mentioned, in hot high DA, the effectiveness of its tail authority is reduced.

AZHP for a little bit had the largest flying fleet of them. In talking with the crews, they said that the actual aircraft shipped from the factory brand new with zero hours and they discovered the fuselage was out of jig. Needless to say they have diversified their fleet so a fleet related issue doesn't take them out of service.

Sitting at the library and I notice the latest TIME magazine has a pic on the cover that looks like some dude with a ball sack hanging from his mouth....WTH?

I guess it's some poor attempt at a dogs tung.

I suspect it's a reference to the apps (apparently one is named "wishbone") that are all the rage these days where you can take a photo of someone (or video) and make the person look like a deer, dog, whatever
