Not very many straight lines on that map. We should buy them one of these: (in inches, of course)

Well we know how to get cars around corners around here Sammy..
The key is not slowing down, it improves mileage and it's actually good fun :P

You're passing within 20km of the Ring, surely a quick stop for a lap will only add 7 minutes and some change?

I'm doing about 1300 km's in One day, driving alone..(shotgun rider forgot it was tomorrow).

Furthermore I'm going in the daily driver (Merc A automatic diesel) as the i get the fuel for free via the job.
Not only is the Merc a totally boring car handling wise to put on the Ring, as a company car I doubt it's allowed to Ring it..
And never done the ring, so probably better not doing it tired, and newby in a rush.

Don't wanna have an accident and end up having to foot the bill.

Quite right, you are. I've been there a few times but haven't driven it yet either. I would much rather pop the cherry on a proper track day. Watching some of the Schumi-wannabe's on Touristenfahrten was scary enough. Maybe you can just stop for a coffee break and watch others crash.

Even Frank has a bad day...

PS 1300km in a day is like a trip to the Moon by normal European standard, isn't it? And you're not even Dutch

PPS Did I see somewhere that you are indeed Dutch who lives in Belgium...?

Nononoo, I'm a Belgian, living in Belgium
But back in the days i was Belgian, living in Holland 2001-2007, had my 911S in those days..

1300 is a lot, especially just for a day trip.
But the Merc has to get more mileage, as i need to get it end of lease before BMW changes the 1 serie to a FWD car in the 2019 model year. 50 000 km left on the Merc, so i have to put in an effort...

I got it from a previous employee who left, and i hate FWD, Always had the BMW 1 serie before as it is RWD and a fun chassis, with budget left for options. so i really will not accept another FWD, which means i have to get those 50 000 km's done asap

Bit miffed as i realy wanted to drive to Zuffenhausen with the Porsche, but that would take to much mileage away from the Merc (and set me back 200 bucks in gas out of my own pocket).. I may end up bringing that battub home (i have no GF to stop me from bringing home such things)

1300 km is just over 800 miles. Long drive but I have done several 900+ mile drives in a day. OKC to Flagstaff, AZ going west or to Maryville, TN. Several other long drives on our interstates that are much straighter than your drive.

This is the oldest 356 sold new in the USA. 1952 model.

Rally Fighter - you give them $99K; you and they build it in their factory over one work week. Looked like a lot of fun - and was apparently in the move Transformers.
